Weekend Fun & Daddy's Day Home!

This past weekend was a fun time. I had a work function S
aturday night. It was my first time being away from Emma for more than an hour. My company had our yearly party at Jumbolair this year. They had a "Prom Night" theme, which means it was a formal event. It was so much fun! Unfortunately, Kevin was out of town working (of course), so I was without a date. Much like my senior prom! haha But anyways, they had a wonderful dinner buffet and delicious dessert bar! I love my sweets! The cheesecake was to die for! :) It was a great time.

Em
ma has started smiling so much! I am so glad to have such a happy baby! She enjoys hanging out with my mother and she loves her bouncy seat. She has so much fun just looking at the little puppy that looks down at her. Its so funny to watch! She is getting so big and her personality comes out more everyday. She is starting to eat more. I give her 4 ounces (of mostly formula, breastmilk when I have to pump) during the day. Then at her night time feeding (between 10pm and 12am) I give her 6 ounces. This has allowed her to sleep longer. Last night, she slept from 12:45am to 8am! It was nice!

I had my 6 week post partum
check up on Monday. I am 8 lbs away from my pre-baby weight. I don't think that's too shabby! I have plenty of time to get rid of it in time for mine and Kevin's cruise in April. I can't wait!!

Today, Kevin was home! It was so nice to have him home! We took Emma on an outing to the mall so we can go and do our taxes. So, we got that out of the way. It was nice to be out of the house! And have Kevin there. We showed her off to everyone that he works with and of course they all said she looked like me! :) We were also all dressed in our Pittsburgh Steelers jerseys, and Emma in her Steeler onesie! We got many compliments. lol We had lunch at Chick-Fil-A and then went home. She was one exhausted little girl. It was a fun day though!

The 1st Blog...

So, this is my first blog. Thanks to Mary Ann for turning me to this website. :)

Back on December 12, 2008, my husband and I welcomed our first child, Emma Leslie. I had to have an unexpected C-Section due to Emma's head being too big. I was originally in labor for 11 hours. I had pushed for 2 hours when my midwife said that Emma wasn't making progress. So, we decided to do the C-Section. Everything went great and at 6:57pm, our 9lbs 4oz baby girl was born! We couldn't have been happier that she was finally here!

So, now it is a month and a half later. To me, Emma has gotten so big! She is making more noises now and she's smiling alot! She is such a happy baby! I can't wait for her 2 month check-up so I can find out how much she weighs. I am not looking forward to her shots though. :(

I have my 6 week post partum check up on January 26th. I have been feeling great so I will probably be back at work February 2nd. It's going to be hard to leave Emma, but she will be with her Gramma (my mom). So I have nothing to worry about.

Yesterday, Emma had her first girl's outing with my mom and I. I needed a dress for my work party this weekend, so we went shopping at Ross. Then, we went over to Michael's to get a frame for the birth sampler that my mom made for her. We then went to lunch at Moe's (Yum!! lol). Emma pretty much slept the whole time! It was alot of fun to get out of the house.

Today is pretty much going to be a slow day. We are staying in, which is good since it is so cold out. Tomorrow we will going into my office for a few, so that will be fun. :)
